13 Reasons

I recently finished reading the book 13 Reasons Why the book is about this girl named Hanna Baker who commits suicide. She leaves 7 tapes behind to tell the story of why she killed herself. They story is from the point of view from he friend Clay Jensen. It follows how he feels about the stories on the tapes and what he thinks about her now that he knows what she went through. It also shows how other people can do things without knowing how they make other people feel. A few friends of hers do little things that slowly build up and others do things that make her feel inhumane that she lets them get away with their actions.

I would recommend this book to someone who likes a mystery book because it makes you wait for information about certain characters. The book is a quick read it took me about 3 days to finish and was very interesting. One thing I really enjoyed is the way she presented her stories she includes what the person did to her and how it affected her. She also showed how they felt about the incidents and how they changed her life.

High School Thoughts

I'm only a few weeks away from graduating from middle school and I'm nervous and excited. I'm nervous because Morton is a huge school and it's going to be hard to find my way around the school untill I get used to the building. Also I will be taking A.P. World History and all my other classes will be honors classes so they will be a lot more challenging than my classes here. Also my homework from those classes might cause me to lose some time to play basketball. The first couple of months are going to be the hardest because I have to get used to the building and the staff at Morton. I don't know most of the people from the others schools that are going to be there but I do know some Sophomores and a few Juniors so they could help me with memorizing the layout of the school. I'm excited about starting high school. I think it's going to be a good experience for my time there and I hope the people and staff are excited about the new school year. One goal I have for my time at Morton is to make varsity basketball. I love basketball and I hope I can improve my skills at my time at Morton.

Regret

The thing I regret most in life so far is getting suspended the day my little brother was born. I got suspended for fighting with another student. I regret it because it made me feel bad that this special day had to be ruined my my actions. It just made be feel horrible that I caused every body to be furious on this day that was supposed to be magnificent. If I could go back to 3/9/12 and do the whole thing over again I would. I wouldn't have let my classmate push me to the point where I was willing to fight with him. I would have just ignored him and go on with my day. I'd give anything to go back and change that day, but since I can't I'll focus on becoming better in the future.

What makes me happy

1. My family because I couldn't be where I am without them
2. Basketball because it's my favorite sport and makes me feel free while I play
3. Good food because I don't like to eat stuff that doesn't taste good
4. School because it gives me the opportunity to improve my self for the future
5. Summer because it's nice outside and I could go out more
6. My PlayStation because when it's not nice out I can play that
7. My signed Jimmy Butler ball because he's one of my favorite players and I like it
8. My longboard because I like to race it down hills and it's fun with all my friends
9. My ribiks cube because I like to play with it when I'm bored
10.  My iPad mini because it allows me to be connected with my friends  through games and social media

Inspiration

 Nick has  confidence because he is able to do the things he wants to do in life even thought he doesn't have arms or legs. Secondly he has strength because if I had no legs or arms I'm not so sure
I'd be able to go out have fun and be successful in life whereas he goes to water parks players soccer and other activities. Lastly he has integrity because he doesn't think low of himself just because he has this disability in fact he even likes to joke about it and doesn't let it stop him in life. The way this connects to me is that even if something happens to me I don't let that stop me. When I was five I had kidney failure but I made a full recovery and still do the things I want in life such as play basketball and do good in school.

Super Bowl Commercial

My favorite super bowl commercial is the Coca Cola one where they show people of all age, gender, and ethnicity enjoying food and Coke. I like this commercial because I think that it's a good way to send a message to people who maybe don't want all these people in our country. I like it because it shows that no matter what age, gender, or ethnicity we are we should all be able to enjoy the simple things in life. I think it's Coca Cola is trying to send a message to Donald Trump that every person is different but we still have to respect them and just because they might me a different race that doesn't mean we can just push them a side. Overall I think this is a really powerful commercial and I like the messages it's trying to send.

My New Years Intentions

For the next year I want to become a stronger player on the basketball court and to keep doing good in school so I can open up more opportunity in my life. I want to be able to get scholarships not only for academics but also for basketball. Basketball is something I love doing and its what I want to do for the rest of my life. To get into the NBA you need at least one year of college tuition so I want to keep on doing good in school not only to get into the NBA, but what if it doesn't work out? I don't want to have little education and be stuck with a poor job. If I can't use this year to make myself do better on the court and in school then I feel like I would have just wasted a year. I want to make sure I get the best out of life and by doing good in school and in basketball I feel that this will help me achieve my goals in life. I just hope by improving my skills on the court it will help me be the best person I could be. I would love it if I was in NBA and the only way of getting there is hard work and practice. I know I can get there if its what I really want so thats why my intentions are to get better on the court and keep on doing good in school.

My name is Benny and im 13 years old. I go to Heritage middle school. I love to play sports. My favorite sport is basketball. I also play volley ball and a sometimes baseball. My favorite color is red. I am Mexican American. My favorite food is tacos. I am a very athletic and love to play sports.

In 10 years...

In ten years us see my self coming out of four years in college and going into the NBA. I hope that I could play either for the Warriors or the Bulls, those are my two favorite teams. I also would like to have a nice car and house. That year I want to win rookie of the year and mvp. Also a championship and a all star mvp. Those are just goals for my first season. After that keep winning as much mvp's as I can and hopefully play for team USA. In ten years I would have liked to study sports medicine or sports journalism and do some thing with basketball sports.

Summer reading blog

      The title of my book is 47. The book is written by Walter Mosley.  In the book so far the main character 47 has had to leave his mother figure big mama flore to become a field slave. he has made friends in the shack they sleep in.  They are more Albert and champ Nolan. They give me advice about being a slave. He also found a runaway slave name tall John.

       Interesting part of the story so far there's a tall John was a runaway slave on a different plantation but somehow knew 47 his name  different plantation but somehow knew 47's name . He has told 47 that he is from beyond Africa. When they first met tall John told 47 that he had been looking for him. He told him that he was from beyond Africa. In the book on page 49,  47 says it feels as if I already knew him. 47 feels confused about how tall John has all the information he does. He barely met the guy but in the book  47 says I have complete trust in the runaway slave tall John. Page 49. I feel like they have a weird connection or relationship.
